Description: IFA in Berlin is a relevant showcase of the international consumer electronics industry, and probably it will continue to represent a strong part of the worldwide CE business in the future. This more than 80 years old tradeshow has not only been successful throughout time, but has no competition to speak of in Europe. The unique combination of public show and order platform gives IFA its importance. The commitment of the radio and TV broadcasters turn IFA into a first rate media event. Thousands of journalists report worldwide on IFA every year. An attendance by 1,164 exhibitors occupying 121,000 square metres and more than 3 billion euros worth of orders are once again proof that IFA is one of the world's leading business event for home appliances and partially for consumer electronics. A showcase for innovation and the technology of tomorrow - coupled with a spectacular programme of entertainment events - the IFA 2014 fascinated 228,000 visitors (including 119,000 trade visitors) from around the world. Products ranged from giant flat screen HD televisions with even clearer pictures, to 3D prototypes, tiny mobile phones with built-in TV receivers, mobile video players and wireless systems for carrying signals in the home, as well as high performance note-book and netbook computers, navigation systems and smart-phones, and complete home cinema systems, covering every aspect of entertainment and communication. The manufacturers of home appliances presented their innovations in seven halls. More than 6,200 journalists from 78 countries reported on the exciting world of consumer electronics and home appliances. IFA 2012 will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Trade visitors will have access to the International Trade Visitor Reception starting at 8 a.m., already two hours before the fair officially opens to the public.
